{"id":2470,"date":"2023-08-04T19:59:06","date_gmt":"2023-08-04T19:59:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cssi.com\/gp\/?p=2470"},"modified":"2023-08-04T19:59:07","modified_gmt":"2023-08-04T19:59:07","slug":"how-to-use-gp-safe-pay","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cssi.com\/gp\/2023\/08\/04\/how-to-use-gp-safe-pay\/","title":{"rendered":"How To Use GP Safe Pay"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Using GP Safe Pay (Positive Pay)<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>This is a repeat of a tip we published in February of 2022 but, with the rise in the number of check fraud cases, this may be a good time to start using <strong>Safe Pay<\/strong> (also known as Positive Pay).<br><br>Microsoft Dynamics GP has this built-in tool to assist in the prevention of check and ACH fraud.\u00a0 It\u2019s a process that involves creating a file of payables payments (checks and EFT\u2019s) that you submit to your bank.<br><br>Any payments presented to your bank are compared to your company\u2019s issued Safe Pay file.\u00a0 If a payment does not match the information in the file, your bank will contact you for authorization.<br><br>If you do not see this option in your GP, then it either needs to be installed and\/or registered.<br><br>It requires a few setup steps.\u00a0 You first need to contact your bank to confirm that they offer this service and then ask them for file specifications.\u00a0 This file format gets created in GP by going to <strong>Financial > Routines > Safe Pay > Configurator<\/strong>, where you select an Output file Type and define the types of records lines and record fields per line.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"361\" height=\"301\" data-src=\"https:\/\/b3387384.smushcdn.com\/3387384\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2023\/08\/1.jpg?lossy=2&strip=1&webp=1\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-2475 lazyload\" data-srcset=\"https:\/\/b3387384.smushcdn.com\/3387384\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2023\/08\/1.jpg?lossy=2&strip=1&webp=1 361w, https:\/\/b3387384.smushcdn.com\/3387384\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2023\/08\/1-300x250.png?lossy=2&strip=1&webp=1 300w, https:\/\/b3387384.smushcdn.com\/3387384\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2023\/08\/1-96x80.png?lossy=2&strip=1&webp=1 96w, https:\/\/b3387384.smushcdn.com\/3387384\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2023\/08\/1-120x100.png?lossy=2&strip=1&webp=1 120w\" data-sizes=\"auto\" src=\"data:image\/svg+xml;base64,PHN2ZyB3aWR0aD0iMSIgaGVpZ2h0PSIxIiB4bWxucz0iaHR0cDovL3d3dy53My5vcmcvMjAwMC9zdmciPjwvc3ZnPg==\" style=\"--smush-placeholder-width: 361px;
